I was fortunate enough to work on graphic elements for the Netflix globally released series “Rilakkuma and Kaoru” at Studio Dwarf in collaboration with San-X in Tokyo for 3 months.
Through many design iterations, I handlettered and designed “A Netflix Original Series”, and animated it to fit 13 individual comfy and heartwarming opening titles.
On the Hawaii episode (no.10) I designed and drew the backdrop Hawaii-landscape (pretending to be Rilakkuma and his friends trying their best to cheer up Kaoru. On the Summer festival episode (no.4) I also designed, illustrated and animated the Hawaii-themed sun, the waves and palm trees in Kaoru’s dream. Making it all tie together nicely in Rilakkuma and Kaoru’s whimsical - but gentle world.
